On January 18, 2010, SGI-USA members of southern California, USA, participated in the Los Angeles Kingdom Day Parade. Some 700 youth marched in the parade, which commemorates the life of Martin Luther King Jr. every January.

Prior to the parade, participants gathered at the SGI-USA Los Angeles Friendship Center in California. SGI-USA Youth Leader Nathan Gauer offered words of encouragement to the performers and the 200 youth working behind the scenes to support the event.

The parade route spanned a three-mile stretch of Martin Luther King Jr. and Crenshaw Boulevards in South Los Angeles. SGI-USA has participated in the Los Angeles Kingdom Day Parade for almost two decades.
