| SGI-Paraguay Holds "Seeds of Change" Cultural Show |
On September 24, SGI-Paraguay hosted a cultural show and gathering titled "Seeds of Change" commemorating the 45th anniversary of the first SGI-Paraguay district, as well as the 13th anniversary of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's visit to Paraguay. "Seeds of Change" was held at the sports culture center at University Americana in Asunción, Paraguay. University Americana founding president Andrés Benkö Kapuváry was among the guests who joined the 1,000 SGI members in the audience.

In Part I, a video created by youth introduced the SGI's ideals and the achievements of the first three Soka Gakkai presidents. SGI-Paraguay General Director Kaoru Kurita called on the participants to contribute in their own way toward building peace. In Part II, the young men performed a dynamic Japanese wadaiko drum cadence, and men and women sang a folk medley. Other performances included a cheerful dance by youngsters; a colorful folk dance by the Young Missus group; "angelic" music by the young women's fife-and-drum corps; and vigorous gymnastic feats by the young men. From September 18 to 22, University Americana also hosted the SGI's "Seeds of Change: The Earth Charter and Human Potential," an exhibit highlighting the Earth Charter as a "map" pointing the way toward sustainable living and environmental preservation.
