| "Building a Culture of Peace Exhibition" Shown at Five Venues in Sabah State, Malaysia |
From May through October 2006, "Building a Culture of Peace for the Children of the World" showed at five venues in Sabah State, Malaysia, including Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu, the capital. Originally shown at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in 2004, the exhibition was created by SGI-USA in support of the UN's International Decade of a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children of the World (2001-2010). Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) organized the exhibition's Sabah tour. At each venue, auxilliary events such as cultural performances, book fairs, documentary film screenings and children's drawing contests occurred alongside the main exhibition.
