| Kozo Inamori (clarinetist) and Hibiki Inamori (pianist) perform at memorial concert in Kobe |
On January 16, the Soka Gakkai Kansai 21st Century Symphony Orchestra held a memorial concert at Symphony Hall in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. The concert commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Hanshin Earthquake that hit the Osaka and Hyogo areas on January 17, 1995. The original orchestra coincidentally debuted on January 16, 1995, the day before the devastating quake. Since then, the current orchestra, consisting of professional and semi-professional musicians, not all Soka Gakkai members, has continued to give goodwill concerts. On the same day, Kozo Inamori (clarinetist) and his son Hibiki Inamori (pianist) held a memorial concert at the Kobe International Hall in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Great Hanshin Earthquake.
