Special Mozart Exhibition to Open at the Min-On Music Museum

Beginning August 15, the Min-On Music Museum will feature a special autumn exhibition titled "A Mozart Journey--Mozart Exhibition from the Collection of Bin Ebisawa." The exhibition, sponsored by the Min-On Music Museum and Japan Mozart Research Institute, commemorates the 250th birth anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791). The exhibition presents memorabilia related to the life of this musical genius, including original scores, portraiture and letters he received from friends and acquaintances. Panels introduce the life of the talented composer. To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, a lecture by Bin Ebisawa, president of the Japan Mozart Research Institute, and a concert titled "A Mozart Journey" will be featured on Sunday, September 17, and Thursday, November 23 (see below for details). In preparation, the Min-On Music Museum exhibition rooms will be closed to the public from September 11 through 14.

Professor Miyawaki addresses people's diplomacy as the means to strengthen Sino-Japan friendship
On August 31, the Soka Gakkai Student Division sponsored its fourth lecture in a series at the Josei Toda International Center in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, commemorating Student Division Day. Ryutsu Keizai University Professor Mineo Miyawaki emphasized the importance of "Building Bridges of Sino-Japan Friendship through People's Exchanges." He pointed to SGI President Daisaku Ikeda as an example of a common citizen who made great contributions to the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan. Student Division representatives Hiroki Nakaoka, Ryota Hashimoto and Mikie Hoashi presented research papers.
