Soka Gakkai Malaysia and SGI-Thailand Contribute to Local Community through Art and Music
Visitors at the "Guo Xiyan and His Art of Calligraphy & Painting Exhibition"
Malaysia: Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) organized and hosted the "Guo Xiyan and His Art of Calligraphy & Painting Exhibition," from February 27 to March 6. The exhibit featured over 100 artworks by Guo Xiyuan, an award-winning Chinese artist who serves as vice director of Shenzen University's College of Arts. Some 150 attended the opening at the SGM Grand Culture Center, Kuala Lumpur, officiated by Professor Tay Lian-Soo, director of the Research of Chinese Ethnicity and Culture at Malaysia's Southern College.


SGI-Thailand Fife-and-Drum Corps lead a local parade

Thailand: On March 10, 100 SGI-Thailand young women's fife-and-drum corps members led a local parade along Witthayu Road in Bangkok, Thailand. Many celebrities participated in the parade, which was part of a community crime prevention campaign.
