SGI-Taiwan Hosts "Asian Youth Friendship Musical Festival" in Sanchung City, Taiwan
SGI-Taiwan Young Women's Fife-and-Drum Corps performs
On March 5, SGI-Taiwan hosted the "Asian Youth Friendship Musical Festival" in Sanchung City, Taipei Province, Taiwan, in collaboration with Sanchung City, Soka University and National Taiwan College of Arts. Some 2,000 Japanese and Taiwanese youth, their families and local residents attended. SGI-Taiwan's fife-and-drum corps, string orchestra and chorus group and Soka University's Pioneer Brass Band gave a dynamic presentation. The Liberty Times, one of three leading newspapers in Taiwan, covered the event.

On the occasion, Sanchung City presented an honorary citizenship on SGI President Daisaku Ikeda, in recognition of his contributions to Cultural Activities and friendship. Mr. Lee expressed his appreciation for SGI-Taiwan's contributions through music to strengthen friendship and goodwill between Taiwanese and Japanese youth.
