On May 3, 2007, SGI-Philippines held a kick-off meeting that also commemorated Soka Gakkai Day at the SGI-Philippines Culture Center in Quezon City. Following a congratulatory message from SGI President Daisaku Ikeda, new national leaders were announced: Roger Cabautan, SGI-Philippines General Director; Yasuaki Niitsu, Chair; and Manuel Urrutia, Men's Division Chief.

Mr. Cabautan resolved to create a new era of SGI-Philippines with fresh leadership. Guidance Chief Yasunori Takimoto encouraged everyone to support the new general director and unite together to create "great waves of humanism" in Philippine society. Mr. Niitsu shared his hopes that each participant, beginning with himself, would take personal action to create a new history of progress and victory in each individual's life and in SGI-Philippines as a whole.
